Emerald, the green variety of beryl, is the birthstone for May & among the rarest of natural gemstones. Emeralds vary with color intensity & typically contain eye visible "mossy" or "garden like" inclusions, also called "jardin", which is french for garden. Eye-clean emeralds are extremely rare & therefore even more valuable.
